    TRANSforming Futures

This National Lottery-funded project focused on two extensive reports featuring qualitative research from the trans community in the UK. They highlighted trans people’s access to healthcare and trans people’s experiences of the criminal justice system.

These reports needed significant restructures and to be turned from very complex prose into more accessible, everyday language to ensure they reached the widest possible audience. They also required detailed knowledge of LGBTQ+ rights in the UK and with terminology used within the community.

    Out of the Margins

Out of the Margins is an international project led by Stonewall in coalition with 24 human rights organisations. It builds evidence to advocate for the rights of lesbians, bi women and trans (LBT+) people worldwide.

28 organisations from across the world submitted research to the project. I copyedited a report summarising Out of the Margins’ key findings. This required the ability to understand and simplify complex academic language and LGBTQ+ terminology to make the work accessible to a wider audience, as well as the ability to introduce a cohesive tone of voice across the report.

    Stonewall Top Employers 2020

Stonewall’s Top Employers report is a major annual milestone for the charity. The announcement of the top employers is supplemented by a lengthy report that summarises the achievements of 100 organisations across the UK.

It was vital for the charity’s reputation that this report was detailed, thorough, and pitch-perfect.
